Lyn Cate started working for Metal Masters Inc., serving Southern Oregon and Northern California, in 1970 shortly after marrying the boss’ (Ed Shipley) daughter. He attended AbileneChristianCollege and Southern Oregon College before completing a four-year sheet metal mechanic’s apprenticeship program and installing heating and cooling systems for the first few years at Metal Masters. After completing the apprenticeship program, he began taking classes offered by Lennox Industries to become a factory-trained service technician.

His experiences with both commercial and residential design, installation, and service contribute to his comprehensive knowledge of the heating and cooling industry. In his spare time, Lyn loves to play golf and fly a J-3 Cub, which he inherited from his uncle.
